Olivia Isabel Rodrigo (born February 20, 2003) is an American singer and actress. In 2015, she began her acting career by playing the lead role in the film An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success. She became known for her main roles in the Disney series Bizaardvark (2016–2019) and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (2019–2022). Olivia kickstarted her singing career with the hit song “All I Want,” from the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series soundtrack, which she wrote by herself. This caught the attention of Geffen Records, who signed her in 2020. In January 2021, Olivia released her debut single “drivers license.” After getting unexpectedly massive success because of its popularity on TikTok and several co-signs from major artists like Taylor Swift, the song eventually represented the best start Olivia could ever imagine for her career, establishing a new streaming record twice on Spotify and climbing directly to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart thanks to a record-breaking debut streaming week. Later, “drivers license,” as well as her second No. 1 single, “good 4 u,” were apart of her debut album, SOUR, that released in May 2021. SOUR became the second best-selling album worldwide that year, and won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album. Olivia’s third No. 1 single, “vampire,” released in May 2023 as the lead single to her sophomore album, GUTS, which released in September 2023. In March 2024, Olivia released GUTS (spilled), featuring five extra tracks from her sophomore album GUTS.
